Annapolis Police Investigates a Hate Crime


On Sunday, January 5, 2020 at approximately 10:40 am, an officer with the Annapolis Police Department responded to the corner of Primrose Road and Truxtun Park Road for a report of destruction of property. 

Upon arrival, the officer spoke with an individual who stated that she parked her black, 2012 Kia Forte on Primrose Road near Truxtun Park Road on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at approximately 7:30 pm and did not move or go back to the vehicle until Sunday, January 5, 2020 at approximately 10:30 am when the damage was noticed. 

The damage to the vehicle consisted of a long, deep scratch going from the front driver's side of the vehicle to the rear driver's side of the vehicle. 

The damage also consisted of a swastika on the rear driver's side.

While canvassing the area, the officer observed a silver, 2014 Ford Expedition with a long, deep scratch going from the front driver's side of the vehicle to the rear driver's side of the vehicle and a swastika on the rear driver's side of the vehicle.

 A canvass of the area was conducted for cameras with negative results.
