Charging Documents Detail Arrests of Kylee Dakes and Jonah Poole, Both 18, for Alleged Roles in Death of Man Found Bound with Tape in a Burning Vehicle in Davidsonville
Charging documents, obtained by Report Annapolis News, detail the events that led to the arrests of Southern High School seniors Kylee Dakes (pictured on the right) and Jonah Poole (pictured on the left) , both 18, for their alleged roles in connection with the death of a man recently found in a burning Vehicle in Davidsonville.
According to the documents, On May 24, 2025, at 9:25 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police officers and Fire personnel responded to Tropic Bay, located at 600 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, emergency crews located a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the commercial business. The fire was extinguished, revealing human remains inside the passenger compartment of the burned vehicle. The victim was found with his mouth, hands and feet bound by tape, the charging documents report.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.
The victim in this case was identified as 67-year-old Edward Stephen Koza, of Annapolis. Charging documents confirmed Mr. Koza as the owner of the vehicle as well as the business.
Dakes and Poole were taken into custody just days before their Southern High School graduation, sources tell Report Annapolis News.
