Annapolis Police Charge 15 Year Old Boy as an Adult Following Shooting Incident on Newtowne Drive

Annapolis Police has charged a 15 year old boy as an adult in connection to a recent shooting incident which occured on Newtown Drive.

On 02/01 at 3:55pm, officers responded to the  700 block of Newtowne Drive for the report of shots fired. Officers did not locate anyone injured. 

Officers later located an adult male victim.

He reported that he was standing in front of a home in the 800 block of Brooke Ct holding a one year old child when a juvenile male suspect shot at him. No one was struck. 

The suspect was identified as Reco Johnson, 15, of Annapolis. 

An arrest warrant was issued for Johnson charging him as an adult with two counts of attempted first degree murder and 11 other criminal charges related to the shooting. 

Johnson was arrested on 02/05 and is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
