Friends, Family To Gather In Memory Of Annapolis Teen Killed in Ocean City Drowning Accident

Friends and family of an Annapolis teen who died in a tragic Ocean City drowning accident are set to gather in his memory.

The body of 17 year old Azure Storm Martin was recovered on Thursday, August 5, 2021, about one day after a current reportedly pulled him under the water as he was swimming with friends near 112th street. His friends were rescued out of the water unharmed. 
 
Loved ones are expected to gather on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 2-5pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

At the time of his passing, Azure was a rising senior year at Meade High School. He had planned to join the US Air Force and go to college after graduation. "Azure was an inquisitive, bright, and passionate young man," the school principal said in a letter to families.  "A member of our school’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, he was well-grounded and 
not afraid to speak his mind on any topic of conversation."
According to an online obituary, Azure was working as a retail associate at Calvin Klein at Arundel Mills Mall. "He loved lacrosse, wrestling, computers, computer repairs, gaming, movies (especially Marvel), music and his friends," the obituary said.
