Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Deputy Taken to Shock Trauma For Injuries Sustained in Early Morning Crash


An Anne Arundel County Sheriff's deputy was taken to Shock Trauma today for injuries sustained in an early morning highway crash.

The deputy was traveling southbound on I-97 when the at-fault vehicle backed into the travel portion of the roadway from the shoulder causing the collision between the two vehicles. Both drivers were taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for precautionary reasons due to the mechanism of injury.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is handling the investigation.

It is unknown at this time whether or not alcohol was a contributing factor.

The deputy, a three-year veteran, was driving a marked Sheriff’s vehicle.
