Black Woman Found Hanging From Tree in Annapolis, Police Confirm

Police officials have confirmed that a deceased female was found hanging from a tree in Annapolis.

According to an Annapolis Police Department spokesperson, the woman was found when units responded to the area of Belle Drive at approximately 7:30am on Wednesday, November 3. 

According to a social media post made by Civil Rights Icon Carl Snowden,  the unidentified female was African American. 

Additional details were not immediately made available by police. 


UPDATE: At approximately 7:30am, officers from the Annapolis Police Department responded to the 600 block of Belle Drive for the report of an unattended death.  When officers arrived they located a 72 year-old female victim.  Preliminary investigation reveals the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.  The victim’s identity is being withheld pending confirmation that the extended family has been notified.
