Annapolis Police to Announce Arrests in Connection With Recent Pleasant Street Shooting

The Annapolis Police Department will share the details of two arrests made in connection with a recent shooting that occured on Pleasant Street. 

Shortly after 1pm on October 14, 2021, multiple units responded to Pleasant Street for a reported shooting.  Preliminary details reveal that one person was found with injuries consistent with being shot. The victim, Cornell Scott-Young, was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson will be joined by Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley, Police command staff and APD homicide detectives during a press conference at 11:30am.

Officials are expected to update the public on the recent arrests and cross-jurisdictional support in the execution of arrest warrants.  

Scott-Young is the fifth person to be killed in Annapolis this year.
