University of Maryland Medical System Opens New Vascular Center in Annapolis

According to the healthcare system, area physicians recently gathered to celebrate the official opening of the new University of Maryland Vascular Center in Annapolis. The center, located at Route 450 Defense Highway near Route 178 Generals Highway, reportedly offers Annapolis residents greater access to advanced vascular care from physicians who are experts at diagnosing and treating all aspects of vascular disease.
Univesity of Maryland Medical System officials said the opening of this office came about through a unique partnership between Dr. Rajabrata Sarkar, Vascular Surgery chief at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and Dr. John Martin, a well-known vascular surgeon in Annapolis, who has long served the community through his Dare 2 C.A.R.E. program offering free cardiovascular screenings.
