Cleve Maynard, 63, of Glen Burnie, Identified as Person Killed in Annapolis Dump Truck Accident


The cause of a dump truck crash in Annapolis that claimed the life of one person remains under investigation.  

Sources say at approximately 1pm on May 2, 2022, a dump truck driver, 63 year old Cleve Tyrone Maynard, of Glen Burnie, lost control of a dump truck, which careened 40 feet down an embankment and overturned.  

According to a police department press release, the dump truck was traveling eastbound on Route 665 when for unknown reasons, left the roadway and struck a bridge retaining wall before overturning in the below ravine.

Mr. Maynard was pronounced deceased on the scene by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays and plan accordingly.
