Crofton Man Arrested in Connection With Recent Armed Robbery and Assault Cases

Anne Arundel County Police has identified and arrested a Crofton man in connection with recent robbery and assaults in the area. 

On November 29, 2020 at approximately 2:00 a.m. officers responded for an armed robbery of the BP gas station located at 738 Crain Highway in Gambrills. An unknown male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register. The clerk opened the cash drawer and the suspect removed an undetermined amount of currency. The suspect then fled toward the northbound side of Crain Highway.

Later that day, officers responded for an armed robbery at the Taj Mahal Indo-Pak Supermarket located at 2510 Conway Road in Gambrills. An unknown male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied and the suspect fled with an undetermined amount of currency.

Several hours later, officers responded for an armed subject at the Bank Of America located at 2001 Davidsonville Road in Crofton. The victim reported while sitting in her vehicle at the Bank of America drive-thru ATM, a male suspect approximately 30 years old, tapped on her passenger side window with a silver handgun. The victim immediately accelerated, and drove away seeking help at the CVS store across the parking lot. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

About 20 minutes after the incident at Bank of America, officers responded for an armed robbery at the Five Guys located at 1060 Crain Highway in Gambrills. An unknown male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied and the suspect fled with an undetermined amount of currency. 

Through investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect, Matthew Parsons, in the above armed robbery and assault cases. On December 1, 2020, detectives located Parsons in his vehicle at Conway Road and Patuxent Road in Gambrills in his 2008 Silver Ford Taurus X and took him into custody without incident.  Upon executing a search warrant on Parson’s vehicle, detectives recovered a .357 Ruger handgun believed to have been used in each of the above crimes. Parsons was transported to Central Booking and charged with the three armed robberies, first degree assault and related charges.
