Ward 6 Democratic Aldermanic Primary Winner Diesha Contee to Face Republican Challenger George Gallagher in November 4 General Election
Ward 6 Aldermanic candidates Diesha Contee, the Democratic primary winner, and Republican George Gallagher will compete in the upcoming general election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. All candidates who prevail in the general election will be sworn into office on Monday, December 1, 2025.
According to certified results released today by City officials, Contee beat challenger Craig Cussimanio in the primary election held on September 16, 2025.
Officials stated in a press release: "During the official canvass, conducted on Tuesday, September 23, elections officials discovered that the unofficial results for Ward 6 were incorrectly attributed. The 112 vote figure should have been attributed to Diesha Contee and the 69 votes for Craig Cussimanio. This was due to a transcription error on election night. On canvass, the election officials checked the tapes from the machine and servers, which are consistent with the official results that have been certified."

In a statement, Cussimanio said "Congratulations to Diesha Contee on her election as the Democratic candidate for Alderwoman of Ward 6. While the initial incorrect reporting of in-person voting totals was certainly unfortunate, it should not take away from her victory. I wish her all the best in the general election."
