Shortly before 5 p.m. on August 31, troopers from the Maryland State Police Annapolis Barrack were dispatched to the area of eastbound US Route 50 in Annapolis for a report of a disabled vehicle. Upon arrival, troopers observed the female lying unresponsive in a grassy area off the highway. Information obtained through the investigation indicates that the disabled vehicle does not belong to the deceased and is unrelated to this investigation.

A week prior, deceased remains were located nearby a park area at the intersection of Chinquapin Round Road and Fairfax Road.   That individual has not yet been publicly identified and it is unclear if the two cases are related.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Southern Region responded to the scene, as did State Police crime scene technicians from the Forensic Sciences Division to process the scene for evidence. The Maryland State Police and the Prince George's County Police Department are leading this joint investigation. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
