Annapolis Man Faces Nearly Two Decades in Federal Prison After Entering Guilty Plea in Connection with FBI Gun Raid
The U.S. Attorney's Office and the FBI in Baltimore announced today that Dalonte Ray Jones, 21, of Annapolis, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The announcement said on November 11, 2024, law enforcement searched Mr. Jones' residence, which court records last reported as a location on the 1900 block of Copeland Street. Federal officials report that a stolen Glock 17 handgun with an extended magazine and 17 live rounds was found in his bedroom. Mr. Jones' DNA, along with that of three others, was found on the firearm, federal officials stated. Additionally, the announcement said a search of Mr. Jones' iPhone revealed multiple videos of him with various firearms, including the one found on November 11.
Authorities said Mr. Jones, shown here in a photo published by the FBI, admitted knowing that his previous felony convictions for second-degree assault in January and April 2023 prohibited him from possessing firearms, due to being on probation for the April 2023 assault at the time. According to the statement released by authorities, Mr. Jones faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in federal prison. Sentencing is set for Monday, December 8, at 2 p.m.
