Annapolis Police Department Charge 17, 14 Year Old Suspects as Adults in Recent Shots Fired Incident

The Annapolis Police Department announced the arrest of a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old as adults in connection with a shots-fired incident in the Tyler Heights area. 

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 10:56 a.m., Annapolis Police Department officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Janwall Street and Bricin Street in response to a shots-fired report. The incident occurred near Tyler Heights Elementary School; however, no individuals on school grounds were involved or sustained injuries. Officers located a crime scene at an apartment complex and secured a perimeter. A witness approached officers, reporting a 'pop' sound and observing two suspects fleeing. Following the witness interview, officers contacted two intended targets. 

Further investigation revealed ballistic evidence, confirming a discharge. Two juveniles were identified as primary suspects after a subsequent investigation. At 5:07 p.m., APD officers apprehended both juveniles, quickly closing the case. They were charged as adults with attempted murder and assault.
