Woman from Glen Burnie Earns Community Support in Bid for Ms. Wheelchair USA National Title


Community members are showing their support for Carla Rene Cobbs of Glen Burnie on GofundMe, as she prepares to inspire others at the Ms. Wheelchair USA National Competition, a prestigious event promoting disability advocacy and empowerment.

The Ms. Wheelchair Competition is a powerful celebration of women who use wheelchairs, showcasing their remarkable achievements and fueling greater education and advocacy for the over 64 million Americans living with disabilities.

Ms. Cobbs, 41, currently holds the title of Ms. Wheelchair Maryland 2025 and is now aiming for the national title. According to her GoFundMe profile, she emphasizes the critical need for support, stating, "We need your help now more than ever to keep education inclusive and accessible for all, regardless of age or position in the school system. Help me represent Maryland at the national competition Ms. Wheelchair America in Michigan in August." 

Ms. Cobbs' coronation as Ms. Wheelchair Maryland on March 14, 2025, marked a pivotal moment in her journey, as she leverages her platform to champion education inclusivity, inspired by her own transformative experiences.
