Deputies Thwart Escape Attempt of Glen Burnie Man During Warrant Service at Residence on Furnace Branch Road

Anne Arundel County Sheriff's deputies quickly resolved an alleged escape attempt by a local man during warrant service in Glen Burnie, the Sheriff's Office announced today.

On July 7, 2025, the Criminal Apprehension Team executed an arrest warrant for Jermaine Terrell Brown in the 7400 block of E Furnace Branch Road. Brown was wanted for First-Degree Assault and Burglary in Anne Arundel County, and DUI in Prince George's County, according to a press release.

The statement said that deputies attempted to contact Brown at the front door, but he failed to respond. Brown was then observed trying to exit through a back window before retreating back inside. Despite multiple verbal commands to surrender, Brown refused to comply. Deputies made a forceful entry into the residence, discovering that Brown had barricaded the entry points. A K9 was deployed in a non-bite capacity, leading to Brown's surrender without further incident. Brown was taken into custody and transported for processing.

No injuries were reported.
