Severna Park Teen Faces Criminal Charges Following Traffic Stop in Glen Burnie
The Anne Arundel County Police Department today announced the arrest of a teenager from Severna Park on four misdemeanor charges following a traffic stop in Glen Burnie.
According to a press release issued by the department, on Friday, July 18, 2025, at about 7:55 p.m, an officer observed a gray BMW driving erratically near Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Cedar Cliff Drive. The release said that the officer stopped the vehicle on Clara Circle. During the stop, a rear passenger reportedly fled on foot into a wooded area with a backpack, however responding officers quickly found and detained the passenger.
Department officials said that a K-9 unit helped recover the backpack, which allegedly contained approximately 320 grams of suspected cannabis, a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun, an extended magazine, and a fraudulent license plate. The driver, 19-year-old Bruce Edward Dent, 3rd, of Severna Park, and the 14-year-old male passenger were arrested and charged, the police press release stated.
Electronic court records indicate that Dent was charged with four misdemeanor charges, including two drug related and two gun related allegations. He was booked and released on his own recognizance, the records show.
