Maryland State Police Arrest Anne Arundel County Teenager Associated with Philadelphia Super Bowl Car Rally
A collaborative investigation between the Maryland Car Rally Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department led to the arrest of Yariel M. Fuentes-Reyes, 19, from Anne Arundel County. He has been charged in Maryland with misdemeanors for possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a firearm without a serial number, according to an announcement made by the Maryland State Police Department.
On July 3, 2025, the task force, with support from the Maryland State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element (STATE) and the Philadelphia Police Department, executed a search warrant at Mr. Fuentes-Reyes’ residence in Anne Arundel County. An un-serialized Polymer 80 handgun was recovered, which is a key piece of evidence for the Philadelphia car rally investigation, authorities say.
Mr. Fuentes-Reyes was processed at the Maryland State Police Glen Burnie Barrack and transferred to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center for his initial court appearance. Law enforcement sources anticipate his extradition to Pennsylvania, where he will face felony and misdemeanor charges related to his involvement in the car rally.
