Raishaun Mason Dies After Shooting on Bens Drive in Annapolis, Homicide Investigation Active and Ongoing
The Annapolis Police Department is continuing the investigation into the fatal July 6 shooting of Raishaun Tylek Mason. Mason, 23, of Bowman Court, passed away about a week after being shot on Bens Drive.
July 6, 2025, at 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the unit block of Bens Drive for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male who had apparent injuries consistent with being shot.
A police department spokesperson confirmed the investigation into Mason's fatal shooting was active and ongoing.
In a statement to Report Annapolis News, a spokesperson for Governor Wes Moore said "Governor Moore mourns the tragic loss of life and maintains the utmost faith in the Annapolis Police Department to bring the people perpetuating these crimes to justice."
On Tuesday, July 17, 2025, Report Annapolis News sought confirmation of the manner and cause of death in Mason's case. A representative confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide, but would not confirm whether or not the death was indeed related to gun shot injuries.
