Remains Found in Maryland Identified as Missing Delaware toddler, Child's Mother & Mother's Boyfriend Charged

Last month, the Maryland State Police announced the arrests of Darrian Randle and Cedrick Britten, a Cecil County couple, on charges of murdering Randle's 3-year-old daughter, Nola Dinkens, attempting to conceal her body, and filing a false kidnapping report.

According to a press release from June 11, 2025, Randle, 31, and Britten, 44, were charged after consultation with the Office of the State's Attorney in Cecil County, a rural area about 70 miles from Annapolis. Randle faces charges including first- and second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse resulting in the death of a minor under the age of thirteen. Britten is charged with accessory to first- and second-degree murder after the fact and failure to report a child's death, among other related criminal charges.

The investigation began on the evening of June 10, 2025, when an Amber Alert was issued for Nola Dinkens after her mother reported her kidnapped in Newark, Delaware. Authorities later determined Randle's report was false and subsequently canceled the Amber Alert. The New Castle County Division of Police requested the Maryland State Police to respond to Randle's last known address in North East, Maryland, where they made contact with Britten. Further investigation led to the recovery of human remains in a vacant lot in North East, Maryland. At 1:45 PM on June 11, 2025, investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit identified the remains as Nola's.

Nola's father, Dominique Dinkins, shared on a GoFundMe profile, "Our beloved Nola Q. Dinkins, my one and only child, brought an infectious energy and warmth to everyone she met." He added, "As we face the heartbreaking task of saying goodbye, our family is coming together to honor Nola’s memory. We are raising funds to help cover funeral costs, a memorial service, travel expenses, and attorney fees. Your support will help us give Nola the homegoing she deserves and ease the financial burden during this difficult time."
