Check Fraud Investigation Leads to Drug Bust in Glen Burnie; Two Men, Two Women Arrested

An investigation into alleged check fraud yesterday at a Glen Burnie area bank led to the seizure of suspected drugs and paraphernalia, according to police officials. 

Officers responded for a check fraud in progress at Sandy Springs Bank located at 7405 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.  A male subject was attempting to cash a stolen check. Officers quickly responded and located the suspect vehicle still waiting in the drive-thru. 

The driver (pictured top left) Sydney Errol Arthur Smith, Jr., 43, was placed under arrest and the three passengers: (pictured top right) Stacey Lynn Brown, 41, (pictured bottom left) Amanda Nichole Booze, 30, (pictured bottom right) Joshua Anson Pohlman, 40, were instructed to exit the vehicle.  Officers observed in plain view suspected CDS and drug paraphernalia. The passengers were detained and later arrested and charged.

The following items were recovered:
 
17 full gel capsules of suspected heroin/fentanyl 
23 empty gel capsules  
syringes
CDS smoking devices
