Man from Linthicum Heights Sentenced to 30 Years for Drug Trafficking Conviction
Alpha Ibrahim Bah Mansaray, 26, of Linthicum Heights, received a 60-year sentence in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, with all but 30 years suspended, to the Division of Corrections. The initial five years of his active sentence are without the possibility of parole. The Honorable Judge Robert J. Thompson further mandated five years of supervised probation upon his release. Mr. Mansaray was convicted by an Anne Arundel County jury on July 30, 2025, for possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
Following the sentencing, State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess addressed the challenges presented by individuals identifying as “sovereign citizens,” stating, “They claim that the laws of our State and our Country do not apply to them. They are wrong. This Defendant’s refusal to cooperate with law enforcement and orderly court proceedings is very unfortunate. But more importantly, an armed drug dealer will be behind bars and have time to reflect on his poor choices.”
The charges originated from an incident on January 16, 2025, when officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Crain Highway and Veterans Highway in Glen Burnie. Mr. Mansaray, a driver involved in the collision, repeatedly declined to provide officers with a driver’s license. When officers attempted to arrest him for driving without a license, he resisted, necessitating the involvement of multiple officers to take him into custody. A subsequent search of Mr. Mansaray’s person after his arrest yielded a loaded .380 Glock handgun, a bottle of Oxycodone (not prescribed to him), a scale with a white powdery substance, two cell phones, and $677 in cash.
Mr. Mansaray was then transported to Central Booking, where he continued to disregard officers' instructions. A later search at the jail uncovered a bag of drugs in his groin area. At Central Booking, all suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS) were weighed and subsequently confirmed by a drug chemist to be CDS. Over 12 grams of Fentanyl and 117 grams of cocaine were recovered, with detectives estimating the street value of the total CDS to be over $12,000.
