Police Officers Rescue Unresponsive Driver After Suffering Stroke in Edgewater

In a remarkable display of heroism, three Anne Arundel County Police Department Southern District Police Officers saved an unresponsive driver's life, department officials said today. 

On August 19, 2025, the Anne Arundel County Police Department received several 911 calls indicating a vehicle ran into the woods down an embankment in the area of Solomons Island Road and Virginia Avenue in Edgewater. Corporals Pridgen, Mitchell and Skirchak arrived on scene within two minutes of the initial call for service. 

The three officers discovered the driver unresponsive after suffering a stroke. Immediately springing into action, the officers performed CPR, ultimately saving the driver's life.
