Some Heroes Wear Uniforms and Badges: Annapolis Fire Department Recognizes Crew Following Recent Display of Exceptional Life-Saving Skills

The Annapolis Fire Department has recognized a team of outstanding first responders for their exceptional life-saving skills. Fire Chief Remaley presented the Gift of Life Award to several EMS clinicians who demonstrated remarkable expertise and dedication to patient care. 

On June 24, 2025, the team responded to a medical emergency, rapidly recognizing the patient's cardiac arrest and performing CPR for thirty minutes. Following the patient's subsequent cardiac arrest, the team's swift action and effective collaboration with hospital staff resulted in a successful outcome. 

The patient's remarkable recovery, marked by a discharge from the hospital less than 24 hours later, is a testament to the team's exceptional skill and dedication. 

Honored members include Lt. Andrew Collins, Lt./Paramedic Scott Adelman, Firefighter 1/c Nicholas Papaleonti, Firefighter Paramedic Gabriel Ripley, Firefighter Paramedic Ryan Mitchell, and Firefighter Jordan Demeritt.
