Fight During Memorial Service in Glen Burnie Leads to Shooting, Leaving One Person Injured

A fight during a memorial service last night in Glen Burnie escalated, resulting in one person being shot. 

An Anne Arundel County Police Department press release detailed a shooting incident that occurred on August 18, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m. According to department officials, officers and K9 responded to the unit block of Brooks Terrace Road in Glen Burnie. Upon arrival, officers found a large crowd gathered outside a residence where a memorial service was being held for the recently deceased homeowner.

During the service, a dispute escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in a 31-year-old male sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Fire Department personnel transported the victim to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland for treatment. 

The unidentified suspect filed the scene before police arrived. Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the dispute and the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact 410-222-6135 or 410-222-4700
