Ken Vincent, a Distinguished Retired FBI Agent and Navy Academy Coach, Embarks on a New Challenge: Seeking the Ward 2 Annapolis City Council Seat

Kenneth "Ken" G. Vincent, a Republican, could become the next Alderman that represents Ward 2, which includes the old 4th ward, on the Annapolis City Council after the 2025 election.

Mr. Vincent's extensive background includes military service, federal law enforcement, engineering, and water polo coaching. He earned an industrial engineering degree from Lehigh University in 1980, served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and worked as an electronics engineer for the Department of the Navy. In 1987, he became a federal law enforcement officer, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. Public sources confirm his service as an FBI Special Agent, and he has continued to support federal law enforcement in Annapolis part-time since 2020. Ballotpedia also notes his experience as a firefighter/paramedic.

Mr. Vincent founded the Buxmont Water Polo Club in Pennsylvania in 2011 and has been a volunteer assistant water polo coach at the U.S. Naval Academy since 2020.

As a candidate, Ken Vincent highlights his military and federal law enforcement experience, emphasizing public service, national security, and counter-terrorism. While his platform is not yet public, his background suggests a focus on law and order, community safety, and responsible governance. His experience as an FBI Special Agent and firefighter/paramedic indicates a strong commitment to public safety, likely translating into a platform prioritizing police presence, crime prevention, and first responder support. His experience with complex security challenges may also apply to local issues like critical infrastructure threats or counter-terrorism protocols. Military service fosters discipline and leadership, and Mr. Vincent may emphasize these values, promising a disciplined approach to city council work. His experience managing budgets and resources could lead him to advocate for fiscal responsibility and efficient use of taxpayer funds. Furthermore, his federal law enforcement background, including local support work, could help Annapolis secure federal funding or support. Mr. Vincent's candidacy is a continuation of his public service, framed as a way to "give back to this great community," which may appeal to voters who value civic engagement.
