US Naval Academy Hosts Ceremony to Honor Change of Command, Paving the Way for Continued Excellence

On Friday, August 15, the United States Naval Academy held a change of command ceremony, marking the transition from Vice Admiral Yvette M. Davids to Lieutenant General Michael J. Borgschulte as Superintendent. 

The ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Navy John Phelan, Commandant of the Marine Corps General Eric M. Smith, and Vice Chief of Naval Operations Admiral James W. Kilby. Secretary Phelan commended Vice Admiral Davids' distinguished service and expressed confidence in Lieutenant General Borgschulte's ability to lead. Admiral Kilby highlighted the importance of leadership at the Naval Academy in shaping future leaders. General Smith emphasized the significance of the bond between Sailors and Marines. Vice Admiral Davids expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead. Lieutenant General Borgschulte committed to upholding the Academy's traditions.
