Register of Wills Candidate Courtney Buiniskis Reflects on Importance of Community Resources Following Visit at The Haven on Clay Street in Annapolis

Register of Wills Candidate Courtney Buiniskis visited The Haven on Clay Street to see firsthand the community resources available to residents. Renetra, who led the tour, highlighted the support services offered.

“I’m so grateful to the Pastor and his dedicated team for their commitment to uplifting others and ensuring these important resources are available,” Buiniskis said. “Their work truly makes a difference in the lives of so many.”

Buiniskis also noted a personal connection: “What made it special—Renetra is my cousin. Service and community run in the family.”

The current Register of Wills, Jasmine Jackson, is running to retain her seat, and Courtney Buiniskis is challenging her. The election will be held next year on November 3, 2026.

Also present during the visit was Ward 6 Aldermanic candidate Diesha Contee, the Democratic primary winner. Ms. Contee and Republican challenger George Gallagher will compete in the upcoming general election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Diesha Contee is known for being a community-driven grassroots leader who prioritizes service, connection, and fostering meaningful change. Her experience in actively listening to residents' ideas and collaborating with diverse local businesses and organizations would be a valuable asset to the city council.

Ms. Conti and Republican George Gallagher will compete in the upcoming general election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. All candidates who prevail in the general election will be sworn into office on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Mr. Gallagher's campaign has focused on balancing the budget, lowering property taxes, and enhancing public safety, the website says. "New Leadership at the Annapolis Police Department is needed. A significant number of the violent crimes in Annapolis happen in Ward 6
The current city council refuses to address the poor leadership of the Annapolis Police Department."
