Capitol Accountability Project and Coalition for Atonement and Repair Endorse Kenneth Vincent for Ward 2 Alderman

Kenneth Vincent has received a joint endorsement for Alderman of Ward 2 from The Capitol Accountability Project (CAP) and the Coalition for Atonement and Repair (CAR). This endorsement underscores his dedication to integrity, accountability, and the long-term well-being of the community, a press release said today.

Ahsun Powell, President of CAP and Strategist and Facilitator of CAR stated, "This endorsement is a declaration of faith in action. Kenneth Vincent's commitment to truth, accountability, and community repair speaks directly to the heart of our mission to build an Annapolis where justice isn't promised, it's practiced. He has shown not just words, but courage — the kind of integrity and backbone our community has waited far too long to see in leadership. CAP stands firmly with those who stand with the people."

Argo DueƱas, Co-Founder of CAR and a descendant of the Old Fourth Ward, added, "As a daughter of the Old Fourth Ward, I know what it means to see your neighborhood torn down and your family’s roots scattered. The decimation of our businesses, our economic base, and the generational wealth and political power that once anchored our community still echoes today. That pain doesn’t fade, but it teaches you who really stands with the people. Kenneth Vincent has shown the kind of courage and compassion our community has prayed forleadership that will face the truth, fight for fairness, and help restore what was taken. I’m proud to stand with him because he stands with us."

In response to the endorsement, Kenneth Vincent expressed, "I am both honored and humbled to be endorsed by CAR and CAP. As a proud member of the Ward 2 and greater Annapolis communities, I remain deeply committed to working with residents across all our neighborhoods — including the historic ‘Old Fourth Ward’ to improve public safety, expand affordability, and ensure that our city remains a place where long-term residents can stay and thrive. Together, we will build a Ward 2 that is safe, inclusive, opportunity-filled, and truly affordable — a place where all of us can live with dignity, connection, and hope."
.

Former Ward 2 Alderman Fred Paone also conveyed his support: "I am happy to support Ken Vincent in his quest to become Ward 2 Alderman. Our city has regressed over the last four years, and Ken is part of the change we need. His hands-on, common-sense approach is exactly what many of us have been seeking. He knows we don’t need a ferry across Spa Creek or bike lanes on Main Street when there is still crime on Clay Street. He will involve himself in every neighborhood, address problems wherever they exist, and work closely with residents. Ken is the man of action we’ve been looking for and will be a true representative for all of Ward 2."

These endorsements collectively demonstrate a commitment to honest governance, equitable development, and renewed trust between City Hall and the communities it serves.
