10 Community Organizations Receive Grants Funded by Program Sponsored by Ward 6 Alderman DaJuan Gay

The City of Annapolis Office of Community Services (OCS) has announced the recipients of the FY 2026 Children and Families Success Grant. This $50,000 program, funded by the City Council, was sponsored by Alderman DaJuan Gay.

According to a press release from the City of Annapolis, these grants "support community-led projects that expand after-school and summer opportunities for youth, especially in low-income neighborhoods and for children from working families." Grants were awarded in amounts of $10,000, $5,000, and $2,500. 

In the announcement, Alderman Dajuan Gay (Ward 6) stated, "I am thrilled to be able to continue to contribute to the well-being of children and families in the City of Annapolis. Empowering the next generation through education and programming is critical to their and our success as a community."

The 10 grant recipients and their programs include:

Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, for the “Club on the Go” at Robinwood Community Center

Charting Careers, Inc., for after-school child development and neighborhood support

Language Immersion Learning, LLC, for bilingual storytime in Anne Arundel County Public Schools

Seeds 4 Success, Inc., for the AIR program supporting Agency, Inclusivity, and Relevancy

STAIR (Start The Adventure In Reading), for literacy development programs

Monarch Academy, to maintain affordability for its annual basketball camp

Imagine an ATH, for “The Whole Game: Academics, Athletics, and Wellness On and Off the Field”

Annapolis AG Inc., for the “Kiddos Life Skills & Events Program,” including seasonal events and educational field trips

Blessed in Tech, for the “Tech Enrichment and Empowerment Program”

For a Healthy Mind, providing hands-on programs including nutrition education and cooking classes

These programs will "provide safe, enriching programs that help children develop socially, emotionally, and academically while closing opportunity gaps and supporting families throughout the school year and summer months," as stated in the press release.
