Samuel Sheeder, 27, of Annapolis, Remembered as a Bright, Shining Soul Who “Lit Up Every Room” Following Fatal Moped Accident on West Street
Samuel Martin Sheeder, who passed away on September 28, 2025 following a moped accident on West Street, has been remembered in an obituary for his infectious spirit and fearless heart.
According to the obituary published by Lasting Tributes, Sam was a "bright, shining soul who lit up every room and made people feel seen and heard," and it notes that "God was at His creative best when He made Sam." Born on July 11, 1998, in Dallas, Texas, he developed a love for "music, motorcycles, cars, the water, and adventures," the obituary states.
Sam later moved to Annapolis where he continued to embrace life fully. The obituary highlights his philosophy: "Sam never went in straight lines, and he reminds us that the joy is in the journey." Described as "fearless," he "moved freely among people from all walks of life — from CEOs to those experiencing homelessness — and welcomed everyone as family," according to the obituary.
Celebrations of Sam's life are planned in both Dallas and Annapolis: October 18 at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, and October 25 at The Key School in Annapolis.
In honor of his joyful personality, attendees are encouraged to "please do not wear black. Come in casual, colorful attire," according to the obituary. One of his favorite sayings, "Don’t take yourself too damn seriously," perfectly captured his humor and lighthearted approach to life, the obituary states.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Primavera Foundation in Tucson, Arizona.
