Suspect Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Opening Fire Inside Glen Burnie Hotel Room

A suspect was taken into custody after allegedly opening fire inside of a Glen Burnie hotel room, Anne Arundel County Police said today.  

On July 27, 2020 at approximately 11:50 a.m., officers responded for a destruction to property at the Extended Stay America located 104 Chesapeake Center Court in Glen Burnie. The hotel management reported damage possibly caused by a gunshot inside one of the units found by hotel staff. Officers obtained information regarding the identify and description of the person who had just checked out of the room.  

Upon searching the area, officers located the subject walking along East Ordnance Road.  While officers were speaking with the subject, the subject, identified as 28 year old Thomas Lee Cheung, lifted his shirt revealing a handgun. 

Cheung was arrested and a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun was recovered, along with approximately 20 grams of suspected Xanax. 

He was transported to central booking and charged accordingly.
