Two Anne Arundel County Police Officers Injured While Pursuing Fleeing Suspect

Two Anne Arundel County Police officers were injured while attempting to apprehend a fleeing suspect. 

On January 17, 2022, officers responded to the intersection of Route 198 and Corridor Marketplace in Laurel for a subject passed out behind the wheel of the car. When officers arrived on the scene, the subject awakened and drove off of the wrong side of the road and into a ditch. The suspect attempted to flee the scene of the accident and two officers suffered minor injuries attempting to take the suspect into custody. 

Once in custody officers located a loaded handgun in his waistband. The suspect was charged accordingly and identified as:
