Parking Dispute in Riva-Annapolis' Sylvan Homes Community Leaves One Man Shot, Police Say

A parking spot dispute in the Sylvan Homes community near Annapolis left one man shot, Anne Arundel County Police said today. 

On August 31, 2020 at approximately 6:05 a.m., officers responded for a shooting in the 100 block of Orchard Road in Riva. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower torso. The officers rendered aid until paramedics arrived. 

An investigation revealed the victim was leaving his home for work when he noticed a maroon sedan blocking his driveway. He asked the driver to move the vehicle at which time the driver exited the vehicle, shot the victim and fled. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
