Officer Suffered Minor Injuries After Being Struck by Vehicle in Crofton; Driver Arrested and Charged

An Anne Arundel County Police officer suffered minor injuries after reportedly being struck by a motorist in Crofton last night.

According to a department spokesperson, units responded for a disturbance at Taco Bell, 1088 State Route 3, at approximately 9:40pm. When officers arrived, a female suspect fled the scene, and while doing so, she allegedly struck one officer. 

The officer was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment. 

The suspect was located a short time later,  She was arrested, charged and identified as: 25 year old Michelle Joo-Ran Sherman, of Millersville. 

Sherman was charged with second degree assault and reckless endangerment before being released on her own recognizance, court records show.
