Downtown Annapolis Restaurant Robbed, Employee Locked in Freezer

The Annapolis Police Department was unable to locate the individual responsible for robbing a restaurant in Downtown Annapolis, and forcing an employee inside a freezer on the premises.

In a statement, police department officials said on December 3, at approximately 1:22am, officers responded to Jimmy Johns, located in the 100 block of Main Street for a reported robbery. When officers arrived, they spoke to the victim, who is an employee of the business. "Officers were advised that a subject entered the business and demanded money from the cash register and safe," officials wrote in the statement.  "The suspect was not able to gain access to the safe or register, at which time he locked the victim in a walk-in freezer and took her purse."

The suspect fled the area before police arrived. A description of the suspect and additional information related to the incident was not immediately available.

Jimmy Johns did not respond to requests for a statement.
