Anne Arundel State's Attorney's Office Supports Thanksgiving Food Distribution Hosted by Empowering Believers Church in Glen Burnie
Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Anne Colt Leitess and members of her office participated in a community-driven Thanksgiving food distribution in Glen Burnie on Thursday, serving over 115 families. Hosted by Empowering Believers Church, the event provided essential items, including fresh produce, turkeys, baked goods, and staple items.
The State's Attorney's Office supplemented the distribution with an additional $260 worth of Thanksgiving foods, including pies, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, and rolls.
The experience was both meaningful and insightful. A line of residents formed over two hours prior to the distribution, underscoring a significant level of need within the community. Staff participants reported being humbled by the gratitude expressed by families seeking support during the holiday season.
This collaboration between the State's Attorney's Office and Empowering Believers Church reflects ongoing efforts to address food insecurity throughout Anne Arundel County, particularly during the holidays when demand for assistance increases.
