My Brotha's Keeper & My Sistah's Keeper Programs Participants Honored During 10th Annual Graduation Ceremony in Annapolis

The My Brotha's Keeper and My Sistah's Keeper programs, under the leadership of People Builders Consulting, conducted their 10th annual graduation ceremony yesterday at Heritage Baptist Church in Annapolis.

The event, which saw the attendance of Senator Shaneka Henson, Alderwoman-Elect Diesha Contee and many others, celebrated 20 participants for their dedication to personal growth, empowerment, and community involvement.

Alderman-Elect Keanuú Smith-Brown, Anne Arundel County Councilwoman Lisa Rodvien, Ahsun Powell, Capitol Accountability Project President, Argo Dueñas, Coalition for Atonement and Repair Co Founder, Candidate for Senator District 32 Steven Tillet and Carl O. Snowden, Convener for The Caucus of African American Leaders were also in attendance.

"The generational change inspires me, being able to help women and men inspires me. Having people who’ve been counted out inspires me. Every accomplishment that the men and women achieve inspires me," organizer Toni Strong-Pratt shared with Report Annapolis News. "Having the gift to do this work with my husband and so many women and men who are giving back to make sure that we all are free inspires me."

The ceremony gathered numerous family members, mentors, elected officials, community advocates, and supporters to commend the graduates’ achievements. This event underscored the continuous contribution of these programs in offering mentorship, guidance, and transformative opportunities for individuals and families within Annapolis and its neighboring communities.

My Sistah's Keeper (MSK) and My Brotha's Keeper (MBK) initiatives provide the support and guidance for women and men to address unresolved generational root trauma to reach their full potential and transition from dependency to self-sufficiency.
