Annapolis Firefighters Honor Lt. Josh Snyder Six Years After His Passing

The Annapolis Professional Firefighters Union is honoring the memory of Lt. Josh Snyder, who passed away six years ago after a courageous battle with cancer.

In a post shared today, the union reflected on Snyder’s legacy and the lasting impact he left on his colleagues and community.

“Today marks the 6 year anniversary of losing our brother Lt. Josh Snyder to cancer,” the union wrote. “Please continue to hold his family and our brothers and sisters close. May you continue to rest in peace Lt. Snyder.”

Lt. Snyder was hired in September of 2006 and was a graduate of the Anne Arundel County Fire Academy Class 47. He was assigned to the Taylor Avenue Station as a member of the Special Operations Team until his promotion to Lieutenant in 2017 when he was reassigned to the Eastport Station. He received several accolades, letters of Commendations and a unit citation throughout his career. Lt. Snyder was also a devoted father and husband.

According to an obituary, Lt. Snyder was a member of First Baptist Church of Harford County where it was his privilege to serve as the youth leader and Deacon. Being a firefighter was Josh’s honor and he proudly served the City of Annapolis for 13 years, finishing his career as a lieutenant. He was a true man of God who put the Lord and his family first," the obituary said.
