Navy Academy Fire Department Responds to Incident on Balch Road, Sending 6 Mids to the Hospital During Drill Training

The United States Naval Academy Fire Department transported several midshipmen to the hospital during a drill exercise tonight on Balch Road. 

At approximately 8:11pm, emergency personnel from the Naval Academy and the City of Annapolis responded to provide medical care to midshipmen displaying possible signs of heat stress while participating in close order drill training on Worden Field, according to a Naval Academy spokesperson.

 Five midshipmen were subsequently transported to the hospital for further evaluation as a precautionary measure. Additional details were not made available.
