Acclaimed Gospel Singer Kierra Sheard-Kelly Set to Perform at the 2025 Annapolis Juneteenth Festival

The 2025 Juneteenth Festival of Annapolis will feature a performance by the award-winning gospel artist Kierra Sheard-Kelly.

This year's theme, "160 Years - A Legacy of Resistance," acknowledges the 160-year struggle of people of color and their perseverance in the face of adversity. Through various forms of expression, including music, art, education, and storytelling, festival organizers aim to emphasize the significance of self-identity and autonomy.

The Annapolis Juneteenth Celebration commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Africans in the United States, which occurred when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation.

The Celebrate Annapolis Juneteenth event will take place at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds over two days. Performances are scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025, starting at 2 PM, and a lineup of Gospel performers, featuring Kierra Sheard-Kelly, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, also starting at 2 PM.
