Annapolis Police Department Makes Arrest in Connection with Tyler Avenue Homicide

The Annapolis Police Department has announced the arrest of William Hairston, 33, of Tyler Avenue in Annapolis, in connection with the homicide of Gregory Wells. This event reportedly occurred on April 23, 2025, in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue.

According to a press release issued by the police department, Mr. Hairston faces several serious charges. These include first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a violent crime, and carrying a loaded handgun. The police department has also stated that Mr. Hairston is currently being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

Initial details shared by the department in a press release further details that the incident occurred shortly after 11:00 PM on April 23, 2025. Police officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue and upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Gregory Wells, who is pictured above in a picture published by GunMemorial.Org, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both the Annapolis Fire Department and responding police officers worked to provide immediate life-saving aid at the scene.

Despite their efforts, Mr. Wells was pronounced dead later at a local hospital.
