Woman Dies in Pasadena Residential Fire on Magothy Beach Road
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department today released preliminary details about a residential fire that claimed the life of the woman residing there.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., last night, emergency units were dispatched to the 300 block of Magothy Beach Road in Pasadena after a 911 caller inside the home reported a fire. Units arrived within three minutes and observed flames coming from the front of the residence.
Firefighters entered the home and located an adult female near the front door, later identified as 63 year old Cindy Hill. Ms. Hill was pronounced dead at the scene. Crews brought the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.
Three individuals at the scene, reportedly caregivers of Ms. Hill, informed first responders that she had been trapped inside.
Anne Arundel County fire investigators responded and are continuing to examine the origin and cause of the fire. While the investigation remains ongoing, the incident is believed to be accidental. Investigators also confirmed that working smoke detectors alerted occupants to the fire.
