Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Magothy in Pasadena to Host Heart Health Awareness Event April 12

Community members are invited to prioritize their well-being at an upcoming Heart Health Awareness Sunday event scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Magothy, located at 8178 Artic Drive in Pasadena.

Organizers say the event will focus on promoting healthier lifestyles through a combination of education, fitness, and nutrition. Attendees will have access to free health screenings provided by Care Access, along with heart health education materials designed to encourage long-term wellness.

The program will feature several guest presenters, including Chef Sam Brown, who will highlight healthy eating practices, Coach A.P. Alston of Coach AP Wellness, LLC, who will focus on mind and body wellness, and Deborah Session-Meeks, known as the “Line Dancing Diva,” who will lead a fitness component.

In addition to the educational sessions and activities, free food and giveaways will be available to attendees.

The event is sponsored by the Health & Welfare Outreach Ministry, led by Chair Rosalind Hill-Kane. Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear red to show support for heart health awareness.

The gathering aims to bring the community together in a fun and informative setting while emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy heart.
