Mayor Littmann Appoints Former Alderman Ian Pfeiffer as Deputy Chief of Staff
Annapolis Mayor Jared Littmann has announced the appointment of Ian Pfeiffer as Deputy Chief of Staff, bolstering the city’s executive leadership team.
According to the Mayor’s Office, Pfeiffer began work in the role on April 23. The position does not require confirmation by the Annapolis City Council.
In a statement, Littmann said the appointment reflects his administration’s focus on strengthening government operations.
“Having Ian join the team reflects my administration’s commitment to operational excellence,” Littmann said. “I served on the Annapolis City Council with him and have watched him build a solid portfolio of legislative accomplishments in the federal, state, county, and municipal arena. This is another hire that will ensure Annapolis works!”
Pfeiffer brings more than 20 years of experience in legislative strategy, government relations, and advocacy. He previously served as Ward 7 alderman in Annapolis from 2009 to 2017.
Most recently, Pfeiffer worked as Maryland State Director for the State Innovation Exchange, where he led policy initiatives and managed complex program portfolios.
In his new role, Pfeiffer will focus on policy strategy, intergovernmental affairs, and advancing the Mayor’s long-term strategic vision.
His annual salary is set at $123,191. City officials said the addition is part of a broader effort to strengthen leadership and execution within the Littmann administration.
