Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Names 2026 Youth of the Year
The 37th annual Youth of the Year celebration hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, recognizing a group of young leaders for their achievements and character, was held yesterday.
Andre, a member of the Bywater Club, was named the organization’s 2026 Youth of the Year. In a statement, the organization commended Andre’s achievement, noting that he “represents the very best” through his leadership, resilience, and commitment to a bright future.
As Youth of the Year, Andre will go on to represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County at the statewide competition.
The organization also extended thanks to all candidates, as well as the mentors and judges who supported the program, calling their hard work, courage, and dedication instrumental in making this year’s event a success. The statement further expressed appreciation for the broader community, whose continued support helps create opportunities for local youth.
Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, Delegate Dylan Behler and Senator Shaneka Henson were among those in attendance. “I am so proud of all of this year’s nominees, Alex, Andre, E’Laila, and Rickiya, each of whom represents the very best of leadership, resilience, and growth,” Senator Henson said in a social media post. “It was also wonderful to connect with his mentor, Bywater Club Director Ronshaye Clark, whose passion for uplifting young people truly shines through.”
