Annapolis Police: 4 Men Arrested, 5 Firearms Seized Following Shots Fired Incidents on Bens Drive, Newtowne Drive

Four men have been arrested and five guns have been seized following an investigation into recent shots fired incidents on Bens Drive and Newtowne Drive, according to authorities in Annapolis. 

Annapolis Police Department officials say that on February 22, 2022 at approximately 1:00 p.m., units responded to a location on Bens Drive for reports of shots fired.  Officers located evidence consistent with shots being fired, including damage to several vehicles and a building. 

Through investigation, detectives identified three subjects that were involved. A total of five handguns, a loaded firearm magazine, marijuana and other suspected CDS were later recovered. The subjects were located in a parking area near Marcs Court.  They were arrested, charged accordingly and identified as:

Damisi Jones, 20, of Severn

Towan Harris-Wilson, 28, of Annapolis

Charles Boyd, III, 18, of Annapolis 

On February 17, 2022 at approximately 12:26 a.m., units responded to a location on Newtowne Drive for reports of shots fired. Officers located evidence consistent with shots being fired, including damage to several vehicles.
 
Through investigation, detectives identified a subject involved in the incident.  On February 25, 2022, Nelson Poston, 19 of Annapolis, was arrested without incident and charged accordingly. 

Jones, Harris-Wilson, Boyd, Poston are all being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. 

On February 21, 2022, at approximately 7 p.m., Annapolis Police responded to the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue in the Robinwood community after receiving reports of a shooting. Two victims, a 15-year-old male and 11-year-old female, were found suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by gunfire.  Both children were flown to local hospitals.  

The 11 year old female victim has since been released from the hospital and the male victim remains in stable condition, and is reportedly paralyzed.  A third child, a 15 year old female, was injured while running away from the scene.  That child has also been released from the hospital after seeking medical care. No arrests have been in connection with this case, according to an Annapolis Police spokesperson.
