Boyfriend of Woman Found Dead in Edgewater Arrested on Murder Allegations
The Anne Arundel County Police Department has arrested a resident of Edgewater on murder allegations in connection with the death of his girlfriend.
According to department officials, on December 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Linden Avenue in Edgewater for a report of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers reportedly located a female victim with apparent trauma to her body. Members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim, identified as 76-year-old Johanna Gibbs, of Edgewater, deceased, the department said in a statement.
The victim’s remains were transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner for autopsy. Official determination of the cause and manner of death is pending the results of the autopsy, police say.
"Homicide detectives identified the boyfriend of Johanna Gibbs, 72-year-old Bruce William Dunham, who remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, of Edgewater, as a suspect in this case. Bruce William Dunham was arrested and charged with the murder of Johanna Gibbs. Dunham resided with Gibbs at the residence where the homicide occurred," the police department said in a statement.
