Annapolis Optimist Club, First Responders Bring Holiday Cheer to Local Children During “Shop With a Cop” Event

The holiday season was officially launched by the Annapolis Optimist Club’s annual "Shop With a Cop" event. Approximately 50 children were partnered with local first responders for a shopping experience at Target, where they selected gifts for their families, funded by community donations.
Following the shopping, participants attended a lunch and gift-wrapping session at Outback Steakhouse. Volunteers expressed that it was a meaningful experience to witness the children enjoying the meal and sharing in the holiday excitement. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by appearances from Santa Claus and the "Whistling Wrapper."
Community members have commended the Annapolis Optimist Club, first responders, and local supporters for creating a joyful and successful start to the holiday season.
In a Facebook video, the Optimist Club captured an uplifting exchange between an officer and one of the children during a quick game of “rock, paper, scissors.” “We wanted to treat you to a fun moment this morning at our Annapolis Shop with a Cop program! It truly captures the spirit of the event,” the video caption said.
