Hit and Run Crash on Bay Bridge Impact Annapolis Area Traffic
Drivers in Annapolis were impacted this week by a hit and run crash which reportedly occurred on the Bay Bridge.
Area authorities have released details regarding the motor vehicle collision that occurred on the westbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on May 27, 2025, at 6:44 PM, later determined to be caused by a three-vehicle collision involving one individual who was trapped.
Emergency personnel successfully completed the extrication of the trapped driver within eight minutes. Following the extrication, the driver received immediate medical attention from Queen Anne's County Paramedics and was subsequently airlifted by Maryland State Police Helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Additionally, units from the United States Naval Academy Fire Department secured a designated landing zone at the Bay Bridge Airport. The Annapolis City Fire Department also assessed another driver involved in the collision; however, this individual declined transportation to a medical facility.
